Bobcat Badge the first badge earned by Cub Scouts. To earn the bobcat the Scout
has to lean the Promise, Motto and Law of the Pack and explain the meaning
A school-year program for first-grade boys and their adult partners that stresses
simplicity, shared leadership, learning about the community, and family understanding.
Each boy/adult team meets for family activities, then once or twice a month all the
teams meet for Tiger Cub group activities
The Wolf program is for boys who have completed first grade. To earn the Wolf badge,
a boy must pass twelve achievements involving simple physical and mental skills.
The Bear rank is for boys who have completed second grade. There are twenty-four
Bear achievements in four different categories. The Cub Scout must complete twelve of
these to earn the Bear badge. These requirements are somewhat more difficult and
challenging than those for Wolf rank.
This program is for boys who have completed third grade. A boy may begin working on the
Webelos badge as soon as he joins a Webelos den. This is the first step in his
transition from the Webelos den to the Boy Scout troop. As he completes the requirements
found in the Webelos Scout Book, he will work on activity badges, attend meetings led by
adults, and become familiar with the Boy Scout requirements - all leading to the Arrow of
Light Award.
The Arrow of Light the Highest Award A Cub Scout can achieve. The Arrow of Light is the
on Cub Scout badge that can be worn on the Boy Scout uniform.
Immediate recognition is available to motivate and encourage the boys to move forward as
they are working towards their rank.
Badge Placement
Cubs also wear the World Crest Emblem (The round blue one above the pocket). The World
Crest is worn to show membership in the brotherhood of scouting.
Cubs can also earn Arrow Points. Arrow Points are earned after the necessary requirements
for achievement of rank have be completed.
Belt loops are available to Cubs who participate in organized sporting events or excel in
academics. Belt loops are designed to fit the official Cub Scout belt and will not fit the
Boy Scout belt. Belt loops are not intended to earned in place of achievements.
This is a brief overview of the ranks and most popular extra awards Cubs can earn. There are
